Hey, friends! I am so glad you decided to stop by and check out this community I’m building. While I’m not new to the wedding world, I am launching officially as Michaela Elyse Events and adding a new hat as a small business owner! If you know me personally you know I wear a lot of hats. I am a wife of 10 years to Braden (2013); momma of Ezra, a goofy 3.5 year old (2020); and a part time kids ministry director at my local church in Mulvane (2013). My background is in K-12 Music Education (Vocal and Flute) but after college the Lord led me to ministry in the church rather than the classroom. It was actually during my time in college that I began serving brides as a “day of coordinator.” It started with friends and family members, but then friends told friends, and family members got chatty. Since those formative years, I have been passionate, self-driven, and full of work ethic. I know the skills and experience I acquired definitely helped me become the wife, mom, kids ministry director, and now planner extraordinaire that I am today.
I am eager, excited, nervous, grateful (all the feelings) to see what this new venture will hold. I am confident that God has gifted me with the personality, skills, experience, passion, and servant’s heart to faithfully come alongside couples during their engagement and wedding season. I genuinely LOVE this little life as a planner and coordinator. The driving force behind finally diving into my business was my husband, Braden, observing how much joy and energy I had after long wedding weekends. After coffee consults with couples I would come home beaming and full of inspiration (and it wasn’t fueled by the caffeine). My friends noticed, my family noticed, and I finally began to notice myself. This is something I love, feel inspired by, and am confident in…so why am I not doing it more? Some of the hesitation was the unknown and fear of failure. I also had realistic questions if this was a wise and proper time for our family to be sacrificing more time. After much prayer and, honestly, opportunities dropping one after the other; I decided to jump in feet first with faith.
If you’re an engaged couple (or family member) in search of someone to help ease the stress and overwhelm, I’m your gal! I’d love to get to know you personally over coffee or lunch. I’ll lay out exactly what a planner/coordinator does and why you absolutely need an advocate in your corner. I would love to be that person beside you and for you on one of the biggest days of your life.
So here we go…bring on 2024 with a new sense of excitement, anticipation, and all the hats!
